Carter Cellars has been releasing highly praised wines from the world renowned Beckstoffer To Kalon since 2000. The 2007 vintage produced another stunner with dark cherry and cassis aromatics integrated with mocha and oak notes. Dense cherry and blackberry fruit explode on the palate and the acidity remains balanced.

Continuing a legacy which began with Carter Cellars inaugural release, our 2007 Coliseum Block Cab is another in an impressive line of well-behaved brutes. Big and massive with loads of purple fruits like plum, blackberry and blueberry. Dried herbs and spices linger in the nose leaving a long and silky finish that lasts to the next sip.

An opulent blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot, and Malbec, this fragrant wine plunges the palate into big, luscious blue and purple fruits - plums, blackberries, dark cherries. The flavors are dense and persistent, yielding to a balanced, long-lasting finish.

An immediate attack on the senses. A dark ruby color leads a nose that is full and rich with dark fruit wafting from the glass alongside a touch of flinty clay. Soft and seductive over the palate and concluding with a silky finish and subtle oak overtones from fine French barrels.

This Merlot reaches levels of concentration not normally found from this region. Bright dark cherry on the palate intermixed with blackberry and strawberry. The mid palate of this wine is its signature. Pure notes of red currants and a slight earthiness give way to a rush of vibrant acidity that frames the mouth from the entry to the finish. True to its varietal, there is not any astringency to be found on the finish.
