The second vintage of the Carter A & J Proprietary Red Wine reflects the immense nature of the 2005 vintage. The season had the perfect conditions to achieve optimal ripeness in the vineyard, giving our Winemaking team a veritable palette of profound Cabernet fruit to choose from to make this select barrel of wine. The wine possesses an opaque color nearing black, with a massive nose suggesting jam-like qualities of fresh blackberry and baking spices. Full-bodied and dark on the palate, the ripe blackberry and black currant flavors are bathed in a touch of earthiness and a light mocha flavor. The wine has a deep structure which, while enjoyable young, will benefit from a few years in the cellar for aging and integration.
